Meet our rescue bees

Our bees are more than honey producers — each colony has a story.

Many of our colonies are rescue bees, collected from wild swarms and colonies removed from buildings before being given a safe new home at Topsy Cottage. We care for these remarkable insects while allowing them to thrive naturally in the rich countryside surrounding Wroxeter.

The landscape around us was once home to Viroconium Cornoviorum, one of the largest cities in Roman Britain. Today, the same countryside provides our bees with an abundance of wildflowers, blossom and hedgerows, creating a rich variety of nectar throughout the seasons.

Your one-hour private experience includes time to unwind in a peaceful countryside setting, a taste of our own honey, homemade bread and a drink to enjoy during your visit.
